# describe your decomposition in bounds/mybound.json
make fit BOUND=bounds/mybound.json ARGS=--write
make verify BOUND=bounds/mybound.json

fit solves for the exact coefficients, or tells you no exact combination of your terms reproduces the target. verify rebuilds the identity in exact arithmetic. If it passes, open a pull request adding the file and the leaderboard picks it up on the next build.

A bound the pipeline cannot check is recorded as cited and never takes a record.

attested · 2/74 re-run   certificate script asserted: CERTIFIED chi(T5^3) >= 6; re-ran 2 of 74 stored batches from scratch chosen from seed 20261001 and only checked the SHA-256 of the other 72 against research/t5q_m2_rank5/batch_manifest.json; the full enumeration (13.4 CPU-h on RunPod CPU pod, 16 vCPU AMD EPYC 4564P on a shared host, fifteen batches in parallel at nice 19, 2026-09-24 12:32 to 13:36 UTC (the rank-5 census of |T5>^2, research/t5q_m2_rank5 at commit 2b751cb)) was not re-run

Compute

2 runs; 28.9 CPU-hours; 2.9 h wall-clock; on Two census runs and the lift chain. (1) The rank-5 census of |T5>^2, 2026-09-24 12:32 to 13:36 UTC: 13.4 CPU-hours on a RunPod pod, 16 vCPU AMD EPYC 4564P on a shared host, fifteen batches at nice 19, commit 2b751cb, Python 3.12.14, numpy 2.3.5 (the attested enumeration). (2) The same 74 batches again, 2026-10-02 01:43 to 02:32 UTC: 14.5 CPU-hours (14.57 kernel hours, 1.15e-7 s per squared member count) on a RunPod pod, 32 vCPU AMD EPYC 9655P, 20 batches at nice 19, commit b894242 with the 5-cover kernel source as refactored after the first run (561c82a), built with gcc-10, Python 3.13.5, numpy 2.4.4; the deterministic hash of every one of the 74 records (units, member counts, hits with their decisions, undecided lists) equals the committed one, with the same 2,795,734,903 modular candidates and the same single hit. (3) The chain around it on the second pod, 01:30 to 03:19 UTC, about 1 CPU-hour: the census and lift controls, the batch-73 probe (404 kernel s, hash equal), the listing aggregate with its two seeded re-runs (batches 12 and 47, 591 s and 571 s, hashes equal), the lift stage (168 s with the exact k = 1..4 censuses, 0.05 s of search), and the certificate under the verifier (attested, 22 minutes). Laptop controls before the pod: 0.1 CPU-hours..

Notes

χ(|T5⟩⊗2) = 5 (bounds/T5-m2-upper-5.json at the Lean tier and bounds/T5-m2-lower-5.json, re-derived exactly by the k = 1..4 censuses the certificate runs). Every amplitude of |T5⟩ is nonzero, so a rank-5 decomposition of |T5⟩⊗3 sliced at the third ququint gives, at each of the five slice values, a decomposition of |T5⟩⊗2 with at most five terms; χ(|T5⟩⊗2) = 5 forces every slice of every term to be nonzero and the five slices pairwise non-parallel, so each slice is a 5-set with |T5⟩⊗2 in its span, and the census lists exactly one such set up to the unitary symmetry group: the lines x + y = c with phase w^(3c x^2 - 3c^2 x), fixed by the group. The coefficient of each line in |T5⟩⊗2 is unique, so a lifted term is determined by its slice pattern c(z) and equals the restriction of |T5⟩⊗3 to {x + y = c(z)}. research/t5_m3_lift/lift.py decides over Q(zeta_5) with rational arithmetic whether five such pattern vectors are stabilizer states forming a bijection at every z: of the 3,125 patterns, 25 survive the exact prunes (the affine c(z) = c0 + d z, the only ones with a flat support) and none is a stabilizer state, since the phase has the cubic part (1 + d^3) z^3 + 3 d z x^2 - 3 d^2 z^2 x on that plane. Hence χ(|T5⟩⊗3) ≥ 6, and by projection monotonicity χ(|T5⟩⊗4) ≥ 6 (bounds/T5-m4-lower-6.json). No invisible or coincident term arises at exact rank; excluding rank 6 at m = 3 would need them and is not claimed. Controls (research/t5_m3_lift/results/, docs/notes/t5_m3_lift_design.md section 4): the basis of |T5⟩ lifts to exactly the board's five sectors, the ten rank-3 decompositions of |T5⟩ do not lift, planted products |T5⟩⊗2 ⊗ β are recovered as the only lift, the qutrit T3 and N cells behave as the board says, and random stabilizer states are recognized. With bounds/T5-m3-upper-15.json the cell is 6 ≤ χ(|T5⟩⊗3) ≤ 15.

The enumeration was not re-run under the budget. The certificate re-enumerates the plan, re-runs the exact k = 1..4 censuses, verifies the hashes and geometry of every output, re-decides the stored hit, fails on any undecided unit, re-runs two batches from scratch (seed 20261001: batches 12 and 47), and then runs the exact lift decision of research/t5_m3_lift/lift.py on the listed set. Completeness rests on the stored outputs and on research/t5q_m2_rank5/batch.py, which regenerates any batch (batch.py K), under the modular assumption every kernel census of the project makes: a member whose image is nonzero over Q(zeta_5) is nonzero modulo 65521. An independent re-run of all 74 batches on 2026-10-02 (research/t5_m3_lift/results/pod/census/) reproduced every deterministic hash; it is recorded in provenance.compute and does not change the tier."
